Strictly Cranes Pty Ltd (Strictly Cranes), official Raimondi Cranes agent based in New South Wales, Australia, has erected the first-ever LR213 luffing crane in the country. The jobsite, a mixed-use residential and commercial development by ALAND, is situated in Liverpool and is scheduled to be onsite for approximately two years.
“Pre-erection of the LR213, which included basic preparation like setting up the electrical wires, galvanized balconies, greasing bolts and more, took one full day. The crane’s erection itself took one full day and went seamlessly,” explained Ramey Alkhoshaibi, founder and Commercial Director, Strictly Cranes. “We recommended the Raimondi LR213 to ALAND as the project is in a congested location – its surrounded by other high rise buildings that will be built over the course of the next few years.” Alkhoshaibi added that the large version of the LR213 would meet the jobsite requirements of lifting the heavy precast panels employed in the build of the structure.
“The luffer is to be climbed to a final height of 100m so the LR213 is ideal: it has a high free stand with the additional booster tower – allowing for minimal climbing and bracing of the crane to the building – thereby increasing overall jobsite productivity and meeting our client’s timeline needs.” This measure reduces the intrusiveness of the braces/ties to the building structure allowing for a quicker finish of the structure, rather of having to wait for the crane to be dismantled to finish the parts where the crane was bound to the building.
“Due to the location, a tight area restricting mobile crane movement, a small Franna mobile crane was used to assemble the counter jib and jib pieces, while the bigger mobile crane was used for the installation of the bigger towers and fully assembled counter jib and jib. We had five Strictly Cranes team members onsite including an operations manager, technician, two riggers/installers and a dogman. A Raimondi Cranes technician from Italy also made the trip to Sydney for the installation, as this was the first LR213 to be erected in the city.”
Strictly Cranes, as part of its full-circle heavy lifting offering, also provided the lifting gear (Boscaro brick cage, kibble, man box and first aid cage), heavy duty lifting chains for the precast panels, and the general quarterly maintenance and 24/7 call out for immediate service needs.
